Bedford Community Primary School

Bedford Community Primary School is a two form entry community school, for children aged between four and eleven years. The school was founded in 1885 and moved from the original site on Bedford Road to our building on Quarry Road in 1992. We share our site with Cambridge Children’s Centre.

At Bedford Primary, we instil a belief in every child that they can excel; demanding high standards and setting challenging goals to which children aspire. We nurture creativity, resilience and a drive to achieve.

Via the work we carry out in partnership with our families and school community, we are privileged to be able to help shape our children’s futures.

You are most welcome to come and visit us at any time and see for yourself what makes Team Bedford so special.

Birkdale High School

Birkdale High School is a thriving, oversubscribed academy in Southport. We are proud to be a school for all boys regardless of ability, background, interests or personality. As the only 11-16 all-boys academy in Sefton, we aim to be a beacon for outstanding practice in the education of boys and the school of choice for all boys in the Southport community and beyond.

We passionately believe that a single-sex setting at this particular stage of a boy’s education is the ideal environment for them to grow in confidence, close the attainment gap with girls and develop their love of learning. Our vision is driven by the strong moral imperative that it is our mission to provide all our boys with a first class education, outstanding outcomes and better life chances. We seek to challenge stereotypes and we are ambitious for every boy we teach.

We invest in our staff and work closely with a range of other institutions locally and beyond to engage, support, stretch and challenge all boys by providing them with a range of exciting opportunities; a varied and purposeful curriculum and a strong set of core values. We have an outstanding academic and sporting record, but are equally proud of our boys’ involvement in all aspects of the wider school life.
